History

Effie’s Place Family Restaurant was established in 1990. It was started by Charles and Effie Paindiris and is now run by their son John. The Paindiris family has been serving the West Hartford area since the 1960’s. In addition, the Paindiris family has been involved with several different community projects, including the Celebrity Breakfast, Children’s Ice Cream Party, Park Road Parade, and Park Road Business Association.

Effie’s specializes in home cooked meals such as baked meatloaf, lasagna, and spaghetti and meatballs. The Spinach Apple Chicken Salad was voted one of West Hartford’s favorite dishes by "Living in West Hartford" magazine.

Daily lunch and dinner specials are offered as well as breakfast specials on weekends. Sample such breakfast specials as Waffles, Eggs Benedict, Lobster Omelets, Open Faced Tuna Melt, Italian Pannini, Lamb Shanks, BBQ Ribs, and many others. Effie's is open seven days a week and serves breakfast until 3:00 pm daily. Call for Daily list.
